Blog # 2 "Freedom of Speech"

I believe we have the right to express our selves at school. I understand that sometimes their are rules that we have to follow, but regarding to the dress code I think their should not be many issues going on because of this. We should be conscious with what we wear. I agree that their are people that sometimes we do things on purpose and have a purpose with the message of the
T-shirts. Even though we are in a country where we can do almost everything, we still have to analyze what we do against others and how we can disrespect some persons. In this case where the schools banned the kids t-shirts was wrong in my point of view. The reason why I disagree is because there are more t-shirts with more violence and worse messages and don't do anything about it...

  1. yes we do have rights but in my point of view my rights ends when they start interfiring with other peoples rights. i agree that the school shouldnt have banned both shirts because their was nothing bad with them.

  2. I agree that we have many rights but no one should have the right to hurt or demoralize someone else. We have a right to say things that might be considered offensive to some people but that doesn't mean that we should use this right. We should consider other people's feelings before we do or say something.

  3. I did a quick research about local school dress code here in Santa Rosa. As long as there are nothing related to gang, reveal skin, etc. then it is ok to wear. With the picture T-shirt, that student just show his support to his idol, his President. The schools in both situations had gone over limit in the freedom.

  4. I totaly agree with you when you said that the school had no good reason to ban the t shirt and that they were allowing worse things to be worn at school
