Blog #7 "SATIRE"...

Satire is its strong vein of irony or sarcasm, but parody, burlesque, exaggeration, anddouble entendre are all frequently used in satirical speech and writing. This word is full of negatism which I Interprete as a disrespectful way of talking about someone or something. An example I found in you tube was about a religion aspect where there are asking if... Satire of religious leaders should be allowed? In this video I was able to see how they where using several religious leaders and making fun of them. Although some peoples opinion in this same video was that satire can be used with anybody and there where no excusess for other people. The link to this video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VG-SFbjSxuo where you can see it and give your own opinion about.

  1. I agree with you, i think satire is dispresctful and on tv.v shows if your not good at it, it can be misinterpreted wrong.

  2. i think that satire is being used more and more as a way to really express how we feel about a certain thing because if we really apreciated something or we really valued it then they would be no reason for us to go ahead and make fun of it and then hide it by saying that it was satire. like after we saw the e-mail in class we found that it was full of of racism and it was most likely showing how the writer really felt about the asian's since never even wrote his name in the e-mail.
